There are probably more than one hundred microphone brands out there today but maybe only two dozen microphone factories… There sure is a lot of badge engineering (OEM) going on today; several names/brands/companies use the same Asian microphone manufacturer.

Pearl has never broken its tradition of producing everything in-house. We believe in gaining total control over every single aspect in the manufacturing process. The heart of the microphone is the capsule, and every Pearl capsule has been produced by the same two hands for fifty years now!

We also believe in testing every single microphone that leaves our Åstorp factory individually. The signed frequency graph that is enclosed in every microphone case tells of our philosophy. This is also the reason why we don't sell matched pairs. Our strict quality control makes any two microphones a matched pair.

So what started out as a Swedish affair 70 years ago continues to be a Swedish affair today.
